Ipas is an international organization that works around the world to increase women's ability to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights. The Major Gifts Officer (Manager III, Development) is a new position reporting to the Director of Development. The Major Gifts Officer (MGO) will provide strategic leadership for a new individual donor program. The Major Gift initiative will complement our busy and highly successful institutional fundraising (we've been at it for 40+ years; our annual budget is approximately $60 million). The MGO will be based in either Ipas Headquarters or an East Coast or Mid-Atlantic telecommuting location. Responsibilities:The Major Gifts Officer will provide strategic advice to Executive and Senior Leadership, including goal setting, benchmarking, and integrating with current fundraising efforts. S/he will build and manage a robust donor/prospect portfolio of individuals committed to ensuring women's reproductive health and rights through their philanthropy. The Officer will be responsible for the solicitation of major gifts from individuals across a wide geographic area at the $10,000 level and above. S/he will facilitate appropriate donor interaction with senior and executive management. The position includes significant travel.Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred. CFRE credential preferred.
- 7+ years' experience and demonstrated success cultivating and soliciting major gifts.
- Supervisory experience.
- Strong skill base in training staff and volunteer leadership teams.
- Exceptional oral & written communication skills with demonstrated experience developing successful fundraising campaigns and related messaging.
- Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills.
- Able to work independently and take full ownership of assignments.
- Excellent collaborator and team member, able to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong commitment to Ipas mission and knowledge of reproductive health programming; ability to involve technical staff and others in cultivation strategies.
- Ability to travel at least 25% or more as needed.
- Knowledge of prospect tracking systems and donor databases.
