IPA in Senegal is accepting interns for the Fall of 2014 globally. These positions offer an opportunity to gain first-hand experience in an organization undertaking cutting-edge development research.
IPA Senegal is looking to welcome one full-time intern, based in Dakar, Senegal, to support the Urban Sanitation project during the Fall 2014 semester.
The Urban Sanitation Intern will work closely with the Research Manager, Project Coordinator, and Data Manager to support a field research project focused on increasing access to improved sanitation services for poor households in peri-urban Dakar. This position offers the opportunity to experience the inner workings of a large, complex impact evaluation while honing skills in data management and programming.
Duties may include:
- Organization and cleaning of collected data
- Questionnaire preparation and programming
- Creating visual representations of data analysis and results
- Assisting with preparation of financial and analytical reports for partners and donors
- Other responsibilities as assigned
The ideal candidate will have some experience using Stata, and may have ArcGIS or Access skills, with keen attention to detail and good problem-solving and organizational skills. French language ability, knowledge of West Africa and an interest in development economics or impact evaluation are a plus.
