Position Title: Communications, Partnerships and Proposals Program Assistant with special emphasis on supporting SGBV-HIV/AIDS activities

General Function:
Within the context of World Relief’s core alignment to Integral Mission, assist the DR Congo Country Director, Program Coordinator and Health Officer to communicate with partners and donors, to strengthen partnerships and to write project proposals and, if grants awarded, to support their management, supervision and evaluation

General Function:
Within the context of World Relief’s core alignment to Integral Mission, assist the DR Congo Country Director, Program Coordinator and Health Officer to communicate with partners and donors, to strengthen partnerships and to write project proposals and, if grants awarded, to support their management, supervision and evaluation
Specific Job Duties:
• Assist the Senior Management Team of World Relief DR Congo in preparing updates, newsletters and reports for dissemination to the World Relief universe and to partners, donors and friends outside the DRC
• Assist liaison efforts with the Department of Church Empowerment/Mobilization in partnership issues with US partner churches, including the preparation of reports, regular updates and logistics related to church partner visits to the DRC
• Assist the Country Director and the Director of Business Development (Baltimore) in any and all proposals that may be deemed required to be compiled for submission to donors.
• Write narratives for quality proposals in collaboration with the Program Coordinator and other staff
• Work with the Finance Department to develop sound budgets and financial reporting plans
• Work with Program Department to develop sound and functional Monitoring and Evaluation plans
• Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, work with the Health Officer and other staff to roll out new health programs approved and financed by donors, including General Fund projects
• Within the context of Integral Mission, to support the national team in efforts to rollout Church Empowerment Zones in an integrated way in Rutshuru Territory
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
• B.S. /B.A.
• MPH, MSc or MA preferred
• French and/or Kiswahili proficiency preferred if possible
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office
• Ability to work with minimum supervision, and to deal with problems/issues promptly and efficiently
• Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing
• Flexible and motivated team player
Experience Required:
• Previous African experience preferred but not required
• A previous internship preferred
• Demonstrated cross-cultural competence
• Experience living or working abroad preferred
