HelpAge International has been operational in Southern Africa since 2012, with the aim of working with, and for, vulnerable older persons to help them claim their rights, challenge discrimination and overcome poverty. HelpAge International, South Africa, is now looking to recruit a Regional Resource Mobilisation Manager to support the development, successful implementation and monitoring of the Southern Africa regional fundraising and donor diversification strategy.
Working in the South Africa office, you will develop, monitor and drive the implementation of country/regional fundraising strategies, in line with the broader programme strategy; lead on the coordination and submission of high quality funding proposals for programmes taking place in the Sothern Africa region; contribute to the capacity development of partners in the region through the provision of training and support in resource mobilisation and donor compliance; and work closely with the Monitoring & Evaluation Adviser in London to contribute to the documentation, collation and sharing of programme learning in the region on our ways of working as well as content to share within and outside the organisation.
As the ideal candidate you will have Degree in relevant subject or equivalent work experience. You will have demonstrable experience of working with institutional donors, such as USAID/OFDA; EC/ECHO; major European government donors; UN agencies; or other major donors operating in the region as well as substantial experience of writing and reviewing funding applications and donor reports and organisational representation in donor meetings, government officials and partners. You must be Fluent in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and good working knowledge of Portuguese would be a significant advantage.
