Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the World Bank Group (WBG) to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty by 2030 and boosting shared prosperity in a sustainable manner by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 130 client countries. ITS services range from: establishing the infrastructure to reach and connect staff and development stakeholders; providing the devices and agile technology and information applications to facilitate the science of delivery through decentralized services; creating and maintaining tools to integrate information across the World Bank Group, the clients we serve and the countries where we operate; and delivering the computing power staff need to analyze development challenges and identify solutions. The ITS business model combines dedicated business solutions centers that provide services tailored to specific World Bank Group business needs and shared services that provide infrastructure, applications and platforms for the entire Group. ITS is one of three VPUs that have been brought together as the World Bank Group Integrated Services (WBGIS), to provide enhanced corporate core services and enable the institution to operate as one strategic and coordinated entity.
The World Bank Group ITS Enterprise Architecture is comprised of three departments: ITS Governance (ITSGP), ITS Architecture Practice (ITSAP) and ITS Strategy and AIP (ITSSA) whom report to the WBG Chief Enterprise Architect. These ITSEA departments provide the following six functions: Technology Strategy, Governance, Architecture Practice, User Experience Management (UXM), Knowledge, and Operations & Planning.
Duties and Accountabilities:
- Accountable for delivering the architectural standards and roadmaps for their assigned domain(s) (e.g. solutions, infrastructure, information, and business) leveraging and coordinating across relevant subject matter experts.
- Exhibits a broad understanding of the current and future technology architectures, an awareness of the organization's key strategies and objectives and particular depth of understanding of the goals and objectives of the multiple areas of the business that they may support.
- Chairs a team of subject matter experts in the evaluation of new technologies relative to their area(s) of expertise. Proposes technology standards and investments (where applicable) supported by a thorough technical analysis, proof of concept and business case.
- Supports the designs of solutions across a portfolio of interrelated projects, ensuring that impact assessments are developed and are effective. Provide recommendations to effectively manage the impact.
- Provides technical guidance, training, direction and reviews the work of colleagues working on architectural issues to ensure alignment. Viewed as an approachable technical resource for an important domain.
- Establishes systems to monitor compliance with architectural standards and to ensure technical integrity.
- Reports on IT asset rationalization, technology standardization, utilization, and technology risk assessments.
- Participates and collaborates with colleagues to develop and maintain a common technology domain classification model and technology standard framework and templates.
- Manages allocated resources (including financial, human resources and technology).
- Responsible for managing performance of team members.
- Responsible for development and career management of team members.
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum Education/Experience:
Master's degree with 8 years relevant experience or Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience.

Program and project management skills

Critical thinking
Maintains a deep understanding of key business issues
In-depth understanding of long-term strategies of ITS and its clients
