This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to join the Adaptation and Resilience team within the Climate and Enviroment Programme.
We are seeking a Research Assistant to support researchers working on climate change adaptation, disaster risk and resilience. Under the supervision of researchers in the adaptation and resilience team, you will contribute to developing, conducting and managing policy relevant, high-quality and innovative research, policy advice and public affairs programmes.
ODI’s work on climate change spans almost all of the Institute’s programmes, anchored by a core of 40 experts in our Climate and Environment Programme (CEP). We aim to support climate-compatible development and poverty reduction through high quality research, analysis and debate. Our work on climate change is organised around three themes: Adaptation and Resilience, Climate Finance, and Green Growth. CEP’s Adaptation and Resilience team investigates the concepts of resilience, adaptation and risk management from different disciplinary perspectives, aiming to influence thinking and agendas for action across the world.
****About you****
The successful candidate will have:
- A post graduate qualification in a relevant social science discipline
- Active knowledge of key institutions and actors in the humanitarian sector and beyond, and of main issues and discussions related to humanitarian evaluation (essential)
- Strong analytical and writing skills
- Experience in conducting systematic literature reviews and annotated bibliographies
- Experience in assisting with the production of research outputs
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Previous experience in an international policy development research environment is desirable
- Some developing country work experience is desirable.
