Village Pilote, french NGO established in 1994 and working mostly in Senegal (www.villagepilote.org) has been working to protect most vulnerable children and to pull them out of their spiral of poverty. VP’s strategy is global and focused around three main areas: Prevention, Protection and Social Reinsertion.
Ø Mission
As part of a multidisciplinary Child and Youth Program team located in Déni Biram Ndao, 50km far from Dakar, the Psychologist hired will do comprehensive psycho-diagnostic assessment for children, families, and also for teams ensuring childcare provision; he/she will do consultation, and will contribute to initiatives such as program planning, education, supervision, research, and collaboration with community partners and interdisciplinary teams.
Ø Main tasks
o Psychological support to children and their families
o Education support to children
o Psychological support and strenghten capacities of the childcare team
o Support and follow of relations with families
Ø Qualifications:
o Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology
o Wolof and french competencies are essential
o Two (2) years relevant work experience with children and adolescents
o Excellent interpersonal, clinical and communication skills, as well as organizational and time management skills
o Supervisory, conflict resolution and crisis management skills
o Knowledge of word processing is required
o Open minded, flexible and adaptable
o Empathic attitude
