Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the United Nations Multidimentional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA), Office of Legal Affairs (OLA). The Associate Legal Officer will be based in Bamako and will report to the Senior Legal Adviser and/or to the Legal Officers of the Office.
Education
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in international law. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in public, private/commercial or international public law, including in legal analysis, research and writing, are required.No experience is required for candidates who have passed the Young Professionals Programme Examination/United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in oral and written English and French is required.
