Chief of party

Chemonics seeks a chief of party for the anticipated multiyear, USAID Integrated Malaria Program (IMaP) in Mozambique. IMaP will assist the government of Mozambique in reducing malaria mortality, morbidity, and parasitemia. The program will focus on increasing utilization and uptake of quality malaria prevention and control interventions, improving the quality of implementation and use of facility and community-based malaria services, and strengthening data flow within the health-care system. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
  • Provide overall program leadership, management, and technical direction
  • Serve as the program's key liaison with USAID, the government of Mozambique, project stakeholders, and counterparts in the public and private sectors
  • Manage and supervise the work of program personnel and subcontractors
  • Ensure that all program assistance is technically sound and appropriate
  • Collaboratively create and implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
  • Oversee program work planning, performance management, and strategic communications
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in public health or a related field
  • Minimum seven years of experience working with public health programs in developing and transitioning programs; experience in Southern Africa and Mozambique desired
  • Extensive experience in implementing malaria or other public health programs
  • Demonstrated skills and experience managing a program of similar magnitude and complexity
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across technical disciplines
  • Chief of party experience on a donor-funded project in Mozambique or Southern Africa preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Excellent English and Portuguese communication skills
