WaterAid is looking for an accomplished Senior Policy Analyst on climate change and water security to play a vital role in delivering on our mission to transform lives with safe water, sanitation and hygiene in the world’s poorest communities.
Please note: This role is being advertised as London-based, but we will be open to consider overseas locations where WaterAid Federation members are based, for instance Washington, New York, New Delhi or Melbourne. Pay and benefits will be adjusted according to location*.
Working within the Global Policy team, the Senior Policy Analyst will:
- Influence international climate change policy-making, so that water security and WASH is recognised as central to the resilience of low-income countries' management and responses to Climate Change, and their capability to deliver WASH for all;
- Ensure global climate financing flows reach water, sanitation and hygiene and water security programmes for poorer communities in developing countries; and
- Support WaterAid's country programmes and their work with governments to strengthen the performance of the WASH sector in their responses to Climate Change.
To be successful, you’ll need to
- Have a track record of successfully influencing international and/or national development policy on Climate Change and water security
- Have built successful coalitions and communities of practice with multilateral and bilateral officials
- Bring a political savviness and the drive to deliver the changes necessary to help the world's poorest communities manage and respond to the negative impacts of water insecurity and Climate Change
