Chemonics seeks technical specialists for the anticipated multiyear, USAID Integrated Malaria Program (IMaP) in Mozambique. IMaP will assist the government of Mozambique in reducing malaria mortality, morbidity, and parasitemia. The program will focus on increasing utilization and uptake of quality malaria prevention and control interventions, improving the quality of implementation and use of facility and community-based malaria services, and strengthening data flow within the health-care system. We are seeking technical specialists in the following areas:
- Malaria
- Nursing
- Health-care facility management
- Behavior change communications
- Maternal, neonatal, and child health
- Nutrition
- Strategic communications
- Monitoring and evaluation
- Information and data management
- Finance and operations
Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical input to project implementation to achieve targets in health outcome goals
- Ensure program assistance is technically sound and appropriate for the local context
- Write and contribute to program reports and other deliverables
- Liaise with the government of Mozambique, stakeholders, and counterparts in the public and private sectors
- Implement collaboratively a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a relevant discipline preferred
- Minimum three to eight years of relevant development experience designing, implementing, and managing USAID or other donor-funded development programs
- Minimum three years of experience in Southern Africa required
- Experience in Mozambique preferred
- Significant experience in one or more of the key technical areas listed above with proven ability to achieve program targets
- Strong ability and desire to work collaboratively with the government of Mozambique, international donors, and local partners
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate technologies
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection and management, and knowledge sharing
- Demonstrated interest in building capacity of local partners
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Excellent English and Portuguese communication skills
