This role will provide logistics services and support to GOAL’s health programmes, to help prevent the spread of the Ebola virus in West Africa.
Key Duties:
• Communicate with CD and all stakeholders in country to establish operational requirements
• Establish and maintain close coordination with local Logistics Cluster
• Establish and maintain close coordination with appropriate health cluster, until this function is taken over by a GOAL helth team member
• Liaise and collaborate, where appropriate, with international, government and non-government agencies;
• Develop the logistics plan for the operation in order to provide efficient logistics services to all programs, agree plan and budget with CD;
• Identify for reference, sources of medical equipment, supplies, and services required to support emergency deployment operations.
• Identify and manage the transport operational requirements for personnel, stock and equipment
• Coordinate procurement and transport of drugs and equipment (locally or internationally);
• Plan transportation, customs clearance requirements for internationally sourced supplies
• Establish and maintain liaison with the USAID/CDC, WFP/UNICEF warehouse for access and support services, space allocations during emergency response operations
• Plan and implement storage and warehousing requirements
• Collaborate with the health Tech Team regarding any specific drug or equipment storage requirements – Refrigerated storage
• Establishes and maintains necessary GOAL Logistics procedures to ensure compliance and the maximum utilization of resources
• Agree and recruit required logistics support team locally or in conjunction with the Logistics team in HQ
• Provide induction and basic training for team members and new staff

Technical skills requirement:
• Supply management;
• Human resources management - providing supervision, inductions, training and able to manage local recruitment;
• Office management and experience using Microsoft office packages;

Basic requirements:
• Languages: English (Essential) and French (desired)
• Available for a minimum of six months;
• Minimum of three months travel or work experience in developing countries;
• Willing to work in unstable areas;

• Well orgnaised and analitical
• Able to provide training and supervision to others;
