About the finance team
The team currently consists of 12 people split between 3 specialist areas of associate support, corporate accounting and project accounting. A vibrant team with a strong sense of team spirit committed to delivering excellence and constant innovative improvement.
Adam Smith International is now recruiting for a junior accounts payable position to support the current finance team after a phase of company expansion. The role will be based in our London office, situated near Waterloo, and will be full time (9am – 5.30pm) Monday – Friday.
About the Role
The accounts payable clerk will perform a key role in Adam Smith International’s finance team through providing support in processing and verifying all purchase invoices incurred as a result of project delivery and corporate activities. The accounts payable clerk will be the main contact for associate consultants on procedure compliance with company policy.
» Posting domestic and associate purchase invoices (600 per month).
» Receipt verification of submitted purchase invoices.
» Department wide support for generic filing.
» Manage electronic storage of all purchase invoices.» Support contact for project manager and associate queries on payable invoices.
» Supplier focused internal audit.
» Support to compile documents for project and corporate audits.
» Monthly reconciliation and reporting of responsible AP accounts.
About You
A member of the Finance Team should have the ability to build effective relationships with internal customers/external providers and to work effectively in a challenging environment. He/she should relish working in a team, should be detailed, energetic, positive, and genuinely committed to achieving lasting change in their work. Adam Smith International seeks the following skills and experience:
» Good A-Levels or above. AAT qualification is desirable.
» Two or three years of previous payable accounting experience.
» Impeccable attention to detail is essential.
» Strong computer literacy.
» Organised and able to adhere to deadlines.» High standard of communication able to overcome language barriers.
» The ability to cope under pressure.
» Professional attitude towards and the ability to build relationships with customers.
» Eligible to work in UK.
