Communications Director, Egypt

ACDI/VOCA currently has approximately 46 projects in 31 countries and revenues of $173 million.
Communications Director, Egypt
We are currently seeking a Communications Director for an anticipated multiyear, USAID-funded agribusiness project, The Food-Security and Agribusiness Support (FAS) activity. FAS is USAID/Egypt’s flagship agriculture activity under the Agribusiness for Rural Development and Increasing Incomes (ARDII) project. FAS will use a market-driven approach to increase agriculture related incomes of smallholder farmers in Upper Egypt through sustainable horticulture value chain systems strengthening for domestic and export (Global GAP and FAIRTRADE) markets.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement FAS communications strategy, and oversee communications department.
  • Lead development of project communications and marketing media including websites, publications, public events and workshops, etc.
  • Provide high level editorial assistance to the publication of all project reporting and communications.
  • Provide support key project stakeholders, particularly industry and export associations, in external communications and marketing.
  • Advisory role to behavioral change and advocacy teams on communications media.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in agricultural development, marketing, communications, journalism or other relevant field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive communications and marketing experience, preferably in the areas of private sector development, value chain competitiveness and investment facilitation.
  • Proven experience contributing to the design and implementation of a government strategic communications strategy required.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Fluency in English required.
