Actively engaging with communities and partnering with them to make a sustainable and deeper impact of our WASH Program in Northern Bahr El Ghazal. In collaboration with the WASH Program Manager, you will elaborate a Community Mobilization Strategy
Key activities in your role will include:
- Identifying and engaging with key actors in the communities to foster ownership of the program
- Developing key platforms to enable equal participation of community members in the program
- Develop appropriate communication tools and train team in apt usage of methodology in mobilization of communities for Hygiene promotion and sanitation
- Ensure appropriate monitoring of programs and participate in program quality and accountability

You’re a seasoned Community Mobilization Expert in Public health & hygiene sector
- You have a M.Sc. in Environmental Health, Public Health and related fields
- At least 3 years’ experience in managing hygiene promotion components of WASH program, preferably in a humanitarian context
- You have proven experience in developing, implementation and monitoring Community Mobilization programs in complex, volatile contexts like South Sudan
- You are passionate about Hygiene promotion and Sanitation & a strongly advocate to engage with and create ownership by communities wherever ACF establishes activities
You’re a super communicator
- You have proven experience in community –led program implementation and are experienced in use of methodologies like CLTS, pHAST & CHAST
- You have experience in training and capacity building of community health workers
- You have experience working with communities/colleagues who do not speak your language. You are used to explaining your work in non-technical terms, adapting your approach to suit different audiences
- You are comfortable explaining policies & procedures to a team. You can remain calm & like talking to colleagues to find solutions to their problems
- You have contributed to team reports & are able to succinctly summarize & analyze current field activities
You embrace the challenge of building your team’s skills
- You are highly organized & pay attention to how everyone in the team is coping. You are calm under pressure, yet are diligent in insisting that your team consistently meets ACF’s standards of quality
- You identify training needs & work with the HR department to develop & implement relevant on-the-job trainings, both for individuals & the whole team
