About the Global Communications Coordinator position
As Global Communications Coordinator you would work directly with 350.org’s communication team to support work currently underway around global campaigns. This role reports to the Global Communications Manager. Tasks to be carried out are wide ranging and include: help craft and implement strategic communications plans for specific campaigns, help in further building existing databases (e.g.: media tracking database), developing content material (such as FAQ’s), support and coordinate with regional teams at specific moments requiring rapid media response, as well as support the Global Communications Manager with additional capacity to implement particular projects.
This is a fast-paced job and would often require juggling multiple tasks simultaneously often tackling several issues in parallel, from helping to draft a press release, to partaking in strategy conversations and liaising with colleagues and partners, to organising databases on a regular basis. We are looking for someone who can keep calm, positive, and task oriented in chaotic environments. In addition, this position requires someone who is detail-oriented, creative and has strong inter-personal skills. If you are looking for a regular 9-5 desk job, with a set routine, this is not the position for you.

- A people-person who can build relationships with the 350.org staff and volunteer network and also members of the press.
- Willingness to be available non-traditional hours as needed to ensure results.
- Experience managing projects.
- Proficiency maintaining spreadsheets and databases, strong email communication, comfort working remotely with colleagues in multiple time-zones via skype, conference calls, and other online tools.
Bonuses (we expect a successful applicant to have at least 2 to 3 of these)
- Minimum 2 years of experience doing communications for a nonprofit or campaign.
- Multilingual.
- Experience working and living in multiple countries.
- Experience and competency working in multicultural groups.
- Experience collaborating with diverse constituencies (labour, displaced communities)

- A track record of using nontraditional and traditional media together to achieve communications objectives.
