Reporting to:SNAP Project Lead in Beirut
Overview of the position:We are looking for an enthusiastic Statistical Analyst to work as part of the SNAP/Strategic Needs Analysis Project team, to develop or apply mathematical or statistical theory and methods to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize numerical data to provide usable information. Responsibilities will include:
Data collection & analysis
- Collect; collate; structure and archive secondary data using SNAP databases to feed into SNAP publications
- Analyse collected information and feed into SNAP publications, with a specific focus on numbers
- Contribute to developing statistical surveys by designing data collection instruments, calculating sample sizes and selecting appropriate analytical procedures, when required
- Conducts data analyses, and reports results associated with a research study, using SPSS, SAS, and other statistical analysis software.
Methodology development & quality control
- Contribute to the regular review of SNAP products to identify areas for improvement
- Work with other SNAP Team members to develop and refine SNAP analysis tools and methodologies
- Support development & implementation of quality control processes, in collaboration with other SNAP Team members
- Maintain close contact with other SNAP country teams to ensure consistency of content and quality of all SNAP products
Capacity building
- Design and deliver training in statistical analysis to a variety of audiences
