As Gender Advisor you will update (as required) the projects Gender Equality Strategy (GES), revising ongoing and proposed activities, suggesting improvements, and planning and designing new activities, and subsequently oversee the GES implementation to ensure gender mainstreaming across the project. To this end, you will be responsible for facilitating the building of gender capacity for staff and partners in the countries within the scope of the project and provide ad hoc support during activities implementation. You will also be responsible for monitoring gender equality outcomes, in coordination with the projects regional monitoring and evaluation specialist, ensuring that sex-disaggregated and gender- based indicators are being measured, collected, analyzed and reported on
Requirements include:
- Minimum of an undergraduate degree completed in gender studies.
- Minimum 3 years program experience in international development with a focus on women, girls and gender equality.
- Strong technical capacity, practical experience and solid insight into program level challenges in designing and implementing gender sensitive community development programs.
- Demonstrated capacity to mainstream gender in policy, programs, operations, systems and practices.
- Fluent in both English and French.
