Caritas Switzerland (Caritas) is a non-governmental aid agency and a member of Caritas Internationalis. Caritas works worldwide and adheres to international humanitarian principles (NGO code of conduct). Caritas Switzerland works in Eastern Africa and the Horn of Africa with a focus on education, strengthening of civil society, food security and water, hygiene and sanitation. We operate an office in Nairobi, have Country Offices in Somaliland (Hargeisa) and South Sudan (Torit) and a Representative in Ethiopia (Addis Ababa).
In South Sudan, Caritas Switzerland implements comprehensive recovery projects to provide basic services that aim at increasing access to quality education, improve food security as well as improving access to, and use of safe water by the beneficiaries. Among others Caritas Switzerland builds water catchments and has a strong focus on sanitation and hygiene education and as well as teacher training, strengthening of Parents/teachers associations and water management institutions. Caritas Switzerland is currently seeking a Senior Finance Manager for its South Sudan Programme.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Ensure that financial systems and procedures are in place and followed in accordance with internal policies;
- Ensure the transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerised accounting system;
- Maintain smooth running of the financial system;
- Ascertain the accuracy of the books of accounts in accordance with accepted accounting principles and donor requirements;
- Ensure that the financial reports are produced and submitted on time;
- Prepare and review annual budgets for the South Sudan office and assist Project Managers in preparation of project budgets;
- Produce monthly cash and bank reconciliation statements;
- Produce internal monthly financial reports for all projects and semi-annual consolidated reports;
- Ensure that the various financial reports are produced and submitted on time;
- Assist with preparation of budgets;
- Establish, maintain and reconcile the general ledger;
- Process the payroll for South Sudan office;
- Facilitate trainings on financial management for partners
Essential Requirements & Qualifications - Advanced University degree in finance or business administration;
- Professional accountancy qualifications – CPA(K), CPA(U), ACCA
- At least 5 years work experience in a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization;
- Ability to work under pressure, independently with limited supervision;
- Good oral and written communication skills;
- High levels of integrity, patience, cross-cultural adaptability and sensitivity; and Proficiency in computer for using MS-Office
