Community and Events Fundraiser

£22,611 gross pa, permanent, full-time (35 hours per week).
We are looking for an articulate and personable team player, with energy and initiative, to take the reins of our community and events work.
The purpose of this post is to increase income for Progressio’s overseas development work through community-level activities and events. You will strengthen our programme of activities and events with your own ideas and thinking to engage existing and potential supporters.
If you have a creative flair, enjoy engaging people and are a great motivator, this is a great opportunity for you to develop your skills and experience in fundraising.
The successful candidate should be educated to degree level in a relevant field, or have equivalent experience.
You should have previous experience of promoting community fundraising and challenge events and of working/engaging with community groups to promote interest and participation. Experience of working in a busy office, meeting a wide range of requests; communicating effectively (written and spoken) with a diverse range of people, and of using social media platforms is also essential.
First class interpersonal and customer care skills (face-to-face, written and over the phone); enthusiasm, an entrepreneurial, results-orientated and proactive approach, and creative flair, including the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse range of people to get involved with community fundraising, is essential. You should also have excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise workload, multitask and work to tight deadlines; the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team; accuracy and fast typing skills; a thorough and methodical approach to tasks, including attention to detail; excellent written and spoken English, and computer skills, including databases.
Flexibility to undertake a range of hands-on duties associated with working in a small organisation; an active interest in development issues, and a willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends is also required.
