London Metropolitan University is one of the foremost providers of undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and vocational education and training in Britain. Our courses are planned in consultation with employers and examining bodies in commerce, industry, the world of art and design, the financial services industries and the professions.
Ask Outlets is a London head office based retailer of consumer electronic goods. It operates from five retail outlets across two brands, Toshiba and Sony. It is a multi-channel retailer of consumer electronics. It stocks over ten thousand products, all located in the current warehouse in Central London. ASK understands that, in order to grow sales and profitability, it needs to have greater awareness of which items to hold in stock to meet customer demands and expectations.
During this 24 month Knowledge Transfer Partnership with London Metropolitan University's School of Computing and ASK Outlets Ltd, you will develop a forecasting solution which will help identify trends and facilitate optimum stock management.
You will be supported by London Metropolitan University's Faculty of Life Sciences and Computing throughout the project which is being delivered through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (see link below).

The Candidate
You will need to have a strong computer sciences, software engineering or business information system background. You will have a BSc and/or an MSc (or equivalent experience) in the following areas
- Data Mining and Data warehousing,
- Information systems and enterprise systems,
- E-business,
- Mathematics,
- Software development,
- Internet computing
