Salary: £28,695 - £37,394 per annum
Warwick is seeking an experienced IT Support Officer to take overall responsibility for and develop the technical service provision and provide effective management and support of the Centre for Professional Education (CPE)’s IT requirements including e-learning provision, providing specialist advice and guidance and training to users at all levels.
The CPE also delivers a range of continuing professional development courses in addition to its academic provision, with a number of external, and increasingly internationally based, organisations. Developments in virtual learning environments, e-learning provision, tele-presence and other multi-media approaches to effective global working are becoming increasingly important.
You will manage and maintain the networks and databases along with the department website and take responsibility for technical training and support for colleagues and other staff, students and third parties. In addition, you will develop plans for the enhancement of the IT network and technical facilities, which will include advising on the development of new databases and software.
You will have a customer-focussed approach to IT delivery and proven experience of developing and providing effective technical support services in a fast-moving, customer-facing educational/training environment. In addition, a significant Windows-based network management experience and hands-on desk-side support experience is essential.
Fixed term contract for 12 months or secondment opportunity. The post is likely to be extended for 3 – 5 years subject to funding.
