The Rotary Club of Capitol Hill (RCCH) is one of four clubs in Washington, DC, and represents the highest ideals of Rotary International through its service-oriented programs both at home and abroad.
On Capitol Hill, our club promotes projects that fight hunger and encourage literacy. Our members regularly serve dinner at a homeless shelter for women, provide books for local elementary school libraries, and tutor students in schools. Annually, the club provides dictionaries for every third grade public school student on Capitol Hill. The club also has active programs supporting the students of Gallaudet University, the foremost University in the world for deaf and hearing impaired individuals.
Job Description
This unique internship would not require travel to office but instead student can work from campus and check in with supervisor via phone and in person. Interns would attend weekly club meetings on Tuesdays at 7:30am at the Dubliner, 520 N Capitol St NW and participate in club activities and service projects. The intern’s supervisor is David Sterling. The intern will be expected to work for 50 days for a minimum of 15 hours per week. The internship will be unpaid.
Job Responsibilities
- Promote and grow RCCH and Rotary International activities on social media.
- Help identify potential groups to outreach for membership.
- Support RCCH events and activities.
Job Requirements
- Excellent computer skills, preferably experience working with Microsoft Office, on the Web and in social media.
- Proficient research, written, oral communication and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail and needs to be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A strong interest in entering a position in the objectives of the Rotary Club.
