Plan emergency teams are on the ground helping thousands of children and families who have been forced to flee recent outbreaks of violence in South Sudan.
Plan has been working in South Sudan, including before its independence, since 2006 - helping poor children to access their rights to education, health, protection and economic security.
Plan South Sudan works with more than 20,000 children - mainly in Juba, Lainya and Yei counties in Central Equatoria - to bring lasting improvements in a country that has emerged from decades of civil war.
In this challenging and varied role the HR & OD Business Partner - South Sudan is expected to ensure that Plan South Sudan’s HR function complies with local labour laws. The role is expected to uphold Plan Internationals’ values, the Child Protection Policy, code of conduct and other ethical values related to the local culture. The incumbent will advise management on issues to do with HR, support business development manager with staff budgeting data for proposals development and keep all staff contracts up-to-date and will be expected to manage HR risks.
Do you have what it takes?
In order to succeed in this role you will require proven experience in all aspects of generalist HR including data management, recruitment, pay and employee relations. In addition, knowledge of organisational development to support a changing program would be preferred.
Knowledge of operationalising HR in volatile emergency conditions is an advantage. First hand experience and knowledge of working in developing country environments and East Africa in particular an advantage.
Excellent written and spoken English skills are required and a secondary language of either Arabic or a local Republic of South Sudan ethnic language is advantageous.

Location:3 year fixed term contract – Unaccompanied position
Type of Role:Based in the country office located in Juba – Applicants will be required to travel frequently to remote areas which may account for up to 25% of working time. Program area visits may be to locations which are remote, provide rudimentary facilities or be physically challenging in other ways.
Reports to:Head of Operations
Salary:Circa $50,000 US Dollar per annum - With a full expat package available.
