Business Development Manager

Salary: £39,270 per annum
The Academy of a leading international aid charity seeks a Business Development Manager. The job consists of two main roles; the role of Business Development Manager, 60% of their time will be reporting to the Operations Director (OD) will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the Business Development programme, the job holder is responsible in improving the Academy’s market position and achieve financial growth by developing relationships with institutions, organisations and other funding agencies with the aim of generating funds and developing new business into a variety of services through selling our training, research and internship services to them. The job holder is required to work closely with the 3 departments, to develop new products and services and market them to potential donor agencies.
The other 40% will have the role of Research coordinator, to assist with coordinating the R&D function(s) across Islamic Relief family and with external institutions and reporting to the Head of Research & Development (R&D). S/he will manage and develop institutional relationships with clearly planned mutual accountability frameworks in place for key relationships.
Candidates should be confident and highly organised with a natural communication skill and experience in working for an international NGO. The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, ideally with an appropriate post-graduate qualification or 5 years experience in workforce development regardless sector. The post holder will have an excellent level of computer literacy and excellent written and spoken English and a working knowledge of Arabic and/or French. The post holder will have experience in developing concept papers, proposals and bids.
