About the UNHCR Innovation Fellowship
Each year we welcome a group of 20 UNHCR staff and affiliates to the Innovation Fellowship. iFellows (as they’re called) embody the creativity and diversity of the thousands of staff at UNHCR. They work in field operations around the world and at headquarters, and represent a range of nationalities. But, the one thing they have in common is an innovative idea to better serve refugees. We work with them throughout the year as they shape and develop their ideas, and connect them to resources, knowledge, and each other.
Organizational Context:
UNHCR’s Innovation team and the Global Learning Center (GLC) collaborated to design and implement the UNHCR Innovation Fellow programme in 2013/2014. In 2015, the Innovation Fellow programme will continue to play a central role in engaging the broader organization in innovation processes; in supporting exceptionally talented and creative staff and driving innovation in UNHCR from the bottom-up.
To further strengthen the Innovation Fellow programme and the support provided to iFellows during their innovation activities and, more broadly, innovation training in UNHCR, the GLC and the Innovation Unit are looking for a suitably qualified Innovation Fellows Coordinator to be based in Budapest, Hungary, initially on a 1-year contract.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to fill this very exciting role that includes extensive travel and the possibility to impact the lives of millions of forcibly displaced people around the globe.
Profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and self-driven individual with experience in the field(s) of innovation, project and change management and, importantly, training and training coordination. You would have between 3 - 7 years of previous experience, including experience from multicultural working environments, from (large) international organizations (for or not-for profit) and/or from humanitarian/development environments. You would have a relevant Masters Degree and a good practical and theoretical understanding of innovation, training and project/change management; its processes and approaches. Ideally, you would have past experience from the coordination and administration of long term (training) programmes; a personality that balances support to participants with appropriate challenges and questions, and the ability to see the ‘big picture’ and, at the same time, have a good sense of administrative and programme details.
You will be fluent in English and preferably one more UN language (French, Spanish, Arabic preferred)
