Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Director , Zambia

Chemonics seeks a monitoring, evaluation, and research director for the anticipated five-year, USAID-funded District-Based Delivery of Comprehensive Clinical HIV/AIDS Services Project (D-SERVE) in Zambia. The program will help the government of Zambia in delivering integrated and comprehensive HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and treatment services through the national health system. Key activities/intervention areas will include HIV counseling and testing, prevention of mother-to-child transmission, male circumcision, treatment services, care and support, laboratory support services, social and behavior change communications, health policy and advocacy, and strategic information. The director will oversee monitoring, evaluation, and research components of the project; and develop monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems that include appropriate indicators, baseline data, targets, and a plan to evaluate performance and produce timely accurate and complete reporting.
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or higher in public health, social sciences, or other relevant discipline
  • Minimum eight years experience in monitoring, evaluation, and research in the public health field, with progressively increasing level of responsibility
  • Demonstrated expertise in rigorous quantitative and qualitative research and analytical methods
  • Experience in research/study design and implementation, including design and data analysis of quantitative and qualitative studies and rapid appraisals
  • Demonstrated hands-on practical experience setting up and managing monitoring, evaluation, and reporting systems for health programs
  • Excellent report writing, analytical and communication skills, and oral presentation skills
  • Extensive experience in knowledge management and dissemination of research findings
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
