Secretary General - Commonwealth Telecommunications Organisation

by Unknown  |  at  3:33 AM

Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) play a major role in driving social and economic progress in developing countries. The Commonwealth Telecommunication Organisation (CTO) is an intergovernmental treaty organisation which has been instrumental in promoting this knowledge and encouraging the use of such technologies, through its partnership with governments, regulators, business, development agencies and other organisations both in the Commonwealth and beyond.
The CTO works closely with international and regional institutions, including the International Telecommunications Union, and in recent years, it has developed an enviable reputation for policy analysis and programme implementation in the use of ICTs for development.
We are now looking for a forward-thinking, commercially-focused Secretary General to advance our organisation when our current SG’s term of office expires in September 2015.
You will act as an ambassador for the organisation, non-UK residents will also have diplomatic status in the UK where the CTO Secretariat is located. Joining on a four-year contract, you’ll become a catalyst for organisational development by applying your experience of directing change and developing new and existing funding streams from both the communications and international development sectors.
NB: Applicants must be citizens of a Commonwealth country that is a full member country of the CTO.
For further information about this role and details of how to apply, please visitwww.prospect-us.co.uk/jobs/details/hq001524708  or call our retained consultants, Stella Pedersen or Sara Livesey at Prospectus on +44 20 7691 1920 for an informal and confidential discussion.
Closing date for applications: By 5pm on Monday 26thJanuary 2015
