Director of Talent

Living Goods is seeking a Director of Talent with a strong background in global hiring and human resource management. We aim to improve the health and wealth of 50 million underserved customers in the developing world and we believe that our people are the heart of our business and the root of our impact. Living Goods will more than quadruple in reach in the next four years and needs a world class team to excel as we grow. We have offices in Nairobi, Kampala and San Francisco as well as partnerships across Africa and Asia.
As the Director of Talent, you will play a lead role in supporting Living Goods’ rapid growth -- from leading global recruitment strategy to helping team members learn, grow and lead. You are a seasoned professional with 8 – 10 years experience in talent management and have a track record of success in filling senior positions. This position will be based in either Kampala or Nairobi with travel in East Africa.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead talent acquisition for Living Goods worldwide. Provide expert advice and support for hiring managers. Help craft job descriptions, screen applicants, manage applicant tracking systems and support a best of class recruiting and interview process.
· Drive the performance management process. Support all managers to implement an effective system of reviews, performance planning, and career planning. Help the organization employ consistent and effective feedback at all levels.
· Oversee the management of employee benefits across all countries.
· Manage and maintain up to date human resource policies, ensure legal compliance, and oversee work visas as needed.
· Help steward and support Living Goods core values of driving impact for our customers, thinking big, driving sustainability, operating nimbly, and partnering effectively.
Qualifications
· 8 -10 years experience in talent recruiting and development – especially recruiting for senior roles.
· Experience working in Africa and/or Asia. Senior posting at top social enterprises or NGOs a plus.
· Undergraduate degree.
