Africa50 JOBS - AUGUST 2015

Africa50 is a landmark investment vehicle, focused exclusively on Africa’s infrastructure development opportunities. It is an independent, profit driven, commercially managed entity. It will provide a means for private sector investors to bring fresh capital to infrastructure development while securing a return. The result should be a significant boost to efforts to ensure sustained economic growth on the African continent.
Africa50 was incorporated in Casablanca, Morocco in September 2014. It is an African-led initiative with early capital commitments from African governments, and African Development Bank (AfDB) as its cornerstone investor. Africa50 will focus on large scale, transformative, commercially and developmentally sustainable infrastructure projects. Africa50 will target investments in high-impact national and regional projects in the energy, transport, Information Communication Technology and water sectors. The founding shareholders for Africa50 have already committed more than US$700 million to date, and aim to reach 1 billion by year end.
To begin its journey, we are now seeking to recruit high profile staff with outstanding expertise and experience in the following roles: Chief Risk Officer; Consultant: Energy Sector Public-Private-Partnerships Specialist; General Counsel; Consultant : Transport Sector Public-Private-Partnerships Specialist; Director of Project Finance; Director of Project Development; Chief Financial Officer; and Consultant Investment Officers
This is your opportunity to turn something new into something. You must be qualified to at least Master’s degree level in Economics, Finance, Banking, Law, Social Sciences, Engineering or a related discipline, with admission to the bar for legal positions. You will bring substantial experience from the private, public or development sectors, including a proven track record of progression in your career. You will have strong knowledge and understanding of infrastructure development in Africa, its financing and or regional integration and trade issues. Equally important, you should be familiar with the work of other multilateral and bilateral development finance institutions operating in this sphere. We seek individuals who are pro-active and keen to make a difference, who will support Africa50 meet its targets and objectives. Applicants must be result-oriented, with the ability to build internal and external partnerships.  You should be capable of networking at all levels. Finally, you will be an inspiring individual, effective at internal and external negotiations and must be fluent in English or French with a working knowledge of the other language.
Successful candidates will be provided with a competitive remuneration and benefits package, and where applicable, the necessary privileges and immunities granted to international organizations based in Casablanca, Morocco.
