Current opening - Research Assistant in ICT sector
As a Research Assistant, you will work within a client team of a European trade association in the online sector. The position will allow you will to gain greater experience and in-depth knowledge of issues relating to the digital and technology sectors within the EU, gain greater insight regarding the EU institutions and legislative processes within the EU as well as gaining experience in advocacy. You will be liaising with the European Parliament and be in regular contact with the Council, the European Commission and various EU stakeholders. The position will give you a broad knowledge of working in the public affairs sector through practical experience and formal training seminars.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring of the latest developments in the European Institutions (European Parliament, Commission and Council), Member States and the media;
- Attending committee meetings in the European Parliament, following ongoing legislative issues relevant to the ICT sector;
- Attending Commission hearings, various conferences and seminars on related topics;
- Assisting in the organisation of conferences and meetings with clients;
- Researching projects on a variety of issues;
- Assisting in formulating policy and position papers;
- Assisting the account manager on the various other services Instinctif Partners provides, such as drafting press releases, updating websites and liaising with trade associations;
About you:
- The candidate should be fluent in English (mother tongue level). Any other languages would be an asset: French, German, Italian or Spanish;
- University degree in political sciences, EU affairs, communications, law or other relevant areas;
- Experience using social media and interested in different digital platforms would be an asset;
- Good knowledge of EU policies and decision making processes;
