We are seeking a technically & commercially savvy candidate with a strong sense of accountability and excellent communication skills, to drive Distributed Power sales and profitable growth in Francophone African Countries (FAC). This role will own and lead the sales strategy for the Distributed Power business across the entire product portfolio working closely with Product Sales and Channels leaders in FAC. The incumbent will also lead DP projects development and provide interface between GGO-Pr
Prepare and execute the FAC sales blueprint and update quarterly. Meet / exceed targets and build a strong sales pipeline
•Lead sales activities including identifying customers, making proposals and negotiating contracts working closely with Commops, Finance and Technical and Legal teams
•Develop strong network with both industry and government leaders and promote DP solutions
•Participate in tradeshows, customer and industry events and provide thought leadership on GE and DP solutions
• Identify, screen, select and negotiate new project development opportunities for DP and leverage GGO Project development team to structure such deals to maximize DP solutions uptake.
•Categorize projects according to returns, complexity, risk and duration close prioritizing those which optimize the matrix.
•Promote progress on existing projects that are currently in development phase
• Protect DP’s interest both within and outside contractual arrangements.
•Follow-up on project progress & budgets.
•Connect with key developers and EPCs in SSA
•Structure projects to maximize GE equipment and services pull through and minimize risk exposure
•Manage, train and develop staff assigned to support deal execution.
Degree in Electrical and / or Mechanical Engineering,
•MBA qualification or Master’s Degree equivalent
•10+ years of relevant experience
•Proven leader with demonstrated success in sales and project development in Africa
•Experience with evaluating, negotiating and closing contracts
•Strong knowledge and experience in project management and project controls
•Working knowledge of project development requirements such as Site selection, Environmental & Social Impact Assessment, Power Purchasing Agreements, Fuel Supply Agreements, Power Evacuation, Permitting, Project Guarantees, etc.
•Demonstrated understanding of managing enterprise risk and track record with compliance structures
Team player with outstanding interpersonal skills
•Demonstrated passion and experience driving growth and initiating change
•Excellent communication skills in French and English and demonstrated executive presentation skills
•Dynamic, innovative, enthusiastic, self-motivated and proactive
•Track record of delivering results in a multicultural business environment, inclusive and high EQ
•Understanding of various financing products & structures including debt, equity, lease, partnerships, and project structures
