DOCTOR OF THE EBOLA HOLDING CENTER

MISsION
Development of the projects currently implemented in Sierra Leone, ensuring appropriateness of actions in respect of Médicos del Mundo (MdM) policies and of the identifications already made.
JOB SUMMARY
The Doctor in Charge is responsible for managing the unit, and overseeing all medical related activities. S/he must follow up on activities and procedures in the wards, including admission and discharge of patients, the evolution of the patients, staff issues, and any problems that may arise. S/he is also responsible for supervising the doctors and clinical officers.
S/he is responsible to ensure that the unit is accepted and integrated within the health structure, and to ensure that other health staffs are informed and understand the measures put in place and the procedures for referring patients to the unit.
S/he will participate of the outreach activities planning and implementation

ORGANIZATION CHART
The successful candidate will be part of the Humanitarian Action - Ebola Unit and will refer to the Medical Coordinator of the HC.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Doctor is aware of the risks involved in working in the Ebola HC unit.
· Doctor follows all regulations concerning infection control and protective measures.
Non-adherence to the safety regulations can result in immediate dismissal.
· Supervise case management (admission, medical follow up, discharge, etc.), according to SOP’s.
· Management of the holding center.
· Responsible for reporting relevant problems and issues arising from the HC to the HC coordinator
· Prepares duty roster for doctors and clinical officers.
· Participate in wards rounds according to schedule
· Ensure that patient data is recording in a accurate and confidential way
· Weekly report to HC coordinator
· Organizes trainings for health staff at HC and PHUs
· Participate of the implementation of outreach activities
· In collaboration with HC Coordinator responsible of expat first medical care and medical emergencies
EXPERIENCE
At least two years experience working as a doctor. Preferable knowledge of tropical medicine
Previous experience in similar emergency settings, especially in African context will be desired.
