by Unknown  |  at  11:13 AM

As our proactive, organised and charismatic Medical Logistics Co-ordinator you'll have a significant impact on the delivery of emergency surgical services as you provide invaluable logistical support to the clinical team.
Working in more than 120 countries, we do whatever it takes to create breakthroughs in the way the world treats children. Our Humanitarian department integrates emergency and development work, through our country programmes. It increases our capacity to meet the assistance and protection needs of children and their families affected by crises. Together, we save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential.
As part of our Emergency Health Unit, you'll join an innovative pilot scheme aimed at providing surge personnel support to existing facilities during spikes in crisis, helping to ensure the achievement of health, nutrition, HIV, water sanitation and hygiene objectives. Supporting both the general and medical logistics services for the Mobile Surgical Unit, as Medical Logistics Co-ordinator you will also:
  • Supervise and manage national logistics staff, working with HR on recruitment and identifying training needs and core competencies
  • Support procurement, delivery, warehousing, documentation and systems for the Mobile Surgical Unit
  • Ensure that standards are implemented and adhered to, supporting staff as required
  • Successfully set up, manage, and hand over / close facilities
  • Manage and support all logistical elements of a deployment.
You will have progressive experience in humanitarian medical logistics, with a background supporting the setting up of emergency health programmes, and knowledge of surgical and sterilisation equipment, and infection control. You will have expertise in general logistics and a flair for multitasking. You will additionally have:
  • Strong communication and people skills, alongside the ability to work effectively in a team and to inspire and maintain a positive dynamic in insecure environments
  • The demonstrable ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, establishing harmonious relationships across and outside the organisation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience working in international contexts, in fragile / conflict settings, or with INGOs.
At Save the Children our mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. If you share our mission, are passionate about making it happen and strongly believe you can contribute then join us and we'll give you every opportunity to succeed. We look forward to hearing from you.
