Position: Technical Consultant – Shelter

Position Summary: Relief International is seeking potential candidates to assist with technical proposal design for an upcoming shelter program in Nepal.
Position Responsibilities and Duties:
- Work with RI Program Development leads to write technical shelter components for an upcoming opportunity in Nepal.
- Consultant will draft technical program design based on materials provided by RI as well as discussions and consultations.
- RI will then work with consultant to refine draft based on Skype consultations with RI Global Support, Program Development, and regional and country field staff.
- It is anticipated that all inputs will be needed by July 27 at the latest, with a potential for work to go through July 31.
The position requires a minimum number of years of relevant professional experience along with degree relevant to the position summary as follows:
- Minimum of eight years of relevant professional experience and at least four years of international development experience required if applicant has received Ph.D.
- Minimum of ten years of relevant professional experience and at least six years of international development experience required, if applicant has received an A.B.D. or J.D.
- Minimum of twelve years of relevant professional experience and at least eight years of international development experience required, if applicant has received M.S., M.A., or M.B.A.
Qualifications & Further Requirements:
This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment and who has:
- Professional experience in shelter and settlements required.
- Professional proficiency in English speaking, reading, and writing required.
- Experience in Nepal preferred.
- Experience with DFID program design or programming preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and strategic planning skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, & tasks efficiently.
- Excellent time management skills and resourcefulness with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills. Ability to think critically and creatively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including patience, diplomacy, willingness to listen and respect for colleagues. Must be capable of working both individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment. Must be flexible and willing to perform other duties.
