An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual with proven WASH experience to join our team in the DRC as WASH Project Manager.
As part of the Area Management Team the WASH Project Manager is responsible for all activities at a specific field site associated with the specific sector. This includes managing the implementation of sector activities and related budgets, managing the sector staff team, coordinating activities with other sectors, delivering quality and accountability commitments, and supporting the Area Manager in the production of internal and external narrative and financial proposals and reports.
The successful applicant will have degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering related subject, as well as significant experience of implementing Water, Sanitation and Public Health related projects. Additionally they will be able to demonstrate experience in team management in humanitarian environments and successful project cycle management, especially in complex environments. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills, together with French and/or Swahili language skills are also required.
Applicants must be in sympathy with Tearfund's Christian beliefs. All posts involve potential contact with children and the recruitment process will include specific safe-guarding checks.
