Following the promotion of the Director of the International Office to Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor International, Coventry is now looking to appoint a new Director of its International Office to secure the position of the Group in international recruitment and assist in the delivery of ambitious 2021 International Strategy. The International Office is responsible for all non-UK recruitment to the Group, which comprises Coventry University, Coventry University London Campus, Coventry University College, and Coventry University Scarborough Campus. Working alongside the other International Units - the Academic Partnerships Unit, Centre for Global Engagement and International JV Unit – as well as working with Deanery staff, Directors of Service and Directors of subsidiaries, the Director will lead, direct and manage activities of the International Office so that they continue to be sector leading. A business development role, the Director is expected to secure existing pipelines, facilitate growth of new and existing markets and to drive academic returns, financial contribution, and quality of service to staff, stakeholders and students.
It is a major presence in the City of Coventry, which contributes to the city's friendly and vibrant atmosphere and also enables it to foster successful partnerships. Coventry was ranked 45th overall in the QS Best Student Cities 2015 league table, and ranked third for the diversity of its student population.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of successful international operations, a demonstrable ability to set and work to targets and report these at a board level, knowledge of international markets in higher education, strategic planning abilities, and strong project management skills. They will also need to share Coventry’s ambition for the future and embrace its values and mission ‘to become world-leading in everything we do.’
