The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) is seeking a Director of Investments. The UNJSPF administers a defined benefit plan with approximately $50 B in AUM.
Responsibilities
The Director of Investments reports to the Representative of the Secretary-General (RSG).
The Director of Investments is responsible for directing the work program of the Investment Management Division (IMD) of the UNJSPF. The Director of Investments acts as advisor to the RSG on all matters pertaining to the investment of UNJSPF assets. The Director of Investments oversees day-to-day management of UNJSPF global assets, most of which are managed internally. This position is also responsible for overseeing Operations, Information Technology, Procurement, Risk and Compliance.
Education and Experience
The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communications skills including experience with presentations before governing bodies, Boards, Investment Committees and/or the like.
A minimum of 15 years of proven progressively responsible practical experience in the management and/or supervision of investments is required. Experience in the management and/or supervision of the investment of complex institutional portfolios of assets of various classes, such as pension funds, endowment funds and/or investment advisory firms is required.
An advanced degree in finance or a related field is preferred.
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of other official UN languages is desirable.
