An exciting opportunity exists with a global leader in Supply Chain, Logistics and Freight Forwarding who are currently recruiting for a Country Head of Ocean Freight for their Angolan operation.
The ideal candidate will have extensive Ocean Freight experience and preferably be based in Angola already, alternately, experience in Angola would be advantageous.
Job Description
The Country Head of Ocean Freight is responsible for the country affairs of the Ocean Freight product.
- He/She will work closely with Regional Trade lane Management & Procurement Ocean Freight, and with Corporate Ocean Freight Standards & Governance
- He/She shall implement the instructions of Regional Ocean freight in his/her country
The primary purpose of this role is;
- To execute the Ocean Freight product and trade lane management / procurement strategies at the Country level
- To execute the global Ocean Freight standards & guidelines at Country level
- Accountability of overall operational performance in his/her country.
- Monitor budget and EBIT2 performance of Ocean freight related products at Country level
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of operational Ocean freight experience either on the forwarder or Oceanline side.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in people management and leadership, including recruitment, training & development, coaching, conflict and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of dangerous goods.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian cargo security programs.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese (written and spoken).
- MS office skills and good knowledge regarding PA IT systems.
