Role overview
For our Health Program in Ethiopia we are currently recruiting a paediatric nurse for Yirgalem Hospital. As a nurse you'll be sharing skills and knowledge with staff in the paediatrics department and providing clinical services in the hospital. Your job will be to engage in the routine care and management of neonates. You'll advise and assist on the implementation of a NICU. You'll prepare seminars in neonatal care and present cases to nurses and doctors. You'll organise teaching session’s in particular for neonatal resuscitation training for midwives and nursing staff. You'll introduce systems that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of neonatal care in delivering quality service. All this in a setting with limited resources, but also with the opportunity to gain experience with different patterns of diseases. |
Skills, qualifications and experience required
You have a bachelor degree in Nursing. You have at least 5 years experience as Neonatal Nurse in hospital setting. You have experience in monitoring and training nurses on the job in a hospital. You're computer literate and have basic experience with hospital administration systems. Additional specializaion in neonatal care is desirable, though not mandatory. You consider working in an enviroment with limited financial resources and staff as a challenge and you're willing to be creative and flexible in working schedule. You have good communications and management skills. You are willing to commit for at least 12 months, but we are flexible to 6 months Placements |
