Deputy Chief of Party

IESC is seeking a Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) for an anticipated USAID-funded project in Liberia. The program aims to expand access and use of agricultural inputs, and post-harvest handling, processing, packaging and marketing services, broadly applicable to raising incomes for Liberian smallholder farmers (SHF). It is expected to provide broad support to agriculture development and food security initiatives at the community and national levels, forging innovative partnerships with the private sector and other non-traditional partners. This position is full-time and based in Monrovia.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the acting Chief of Party (COP) in the absence of the COP;
  • Support the COP in overall administration and financial management of the program including management of personnel, reporting, budgeting, and procurements;
  • Provide oversight to budgets, grants, operational plans, reporting, and procedural and financial compliance;
  • Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with key stakeholders, including government counterparts.
Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in business administration, international development, agribusiness, public policy, agricultural economics, or other relevant field required;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in international development, preferably in agriculture, agribusiness, private enterprise development, food security, and rural market development;
  • Experience working in value chain development, input-supply, post-harvest handling, market access, and facilitating private sector investment in agribusiness sector;
  • Experience and leadership in the formation of market linkages, public-private partnerships and business/investment plans;
  • Demonstrated familiarity with Liberia’s business enabling environment and commodity value chains;
  • USAID or other donor experience preferred;
  • Experience working in West Africa preferred;
  • English fluency required.
