Operations Director, World Vision

The Operations Director will provide strategic leadership, management, and direction for all aspects of World Vision Ghana’s operations, including long term development, humanitarian efforts, and global advocacy initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Facilitate creation of efficient and proactive Customer Relation Services for quality sponsorship operations.
  • Provide leadership in performance management to enhance smooth staff relations and accountability.
  • Provide guidance in initiation, implementation and transitioning of Programmes as per World Vision standards.
  • Strengthen relationship with World Vision Support Offices, government, community, church leaders, NGOs as well as other development partners.
  • Ensure compliance of field operations as per approved policies, systems, procedures and internal controls.
  • Ensure quality and timely preparation and submission of divisional work plans, annual operation plans and budgets.
  • Ensure Stewardship and accountability of organizations resources equipment, materials, finance and human resources are used to achieve impact on Child Well Being.
  • Ensure that Partnership and National Office financial policies and guidelines are adhered to by all operations staff.
  • Ensure availability of Project/programme Information for Project Management Information System.
  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Master’s degree in any development studies, social sciences or any related field.
  • Thorough understanding of project/programme design, monitoring and evaluation gained through at least 5 years of relevant experience in World Vision or similar humanitarian organization.
  • 5 + years of experience in a leadership/management position with experience overseeing diverse teams.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the rules and regulations of major donors: USAID, EU, DFTAD, DFID, etc.
  • Demonstrated stewardship of resources and ability to hold others accountable.
  • Strategic planning and management of field programs and operations.
  • Leading and management of interdisciplinary teams and performance management.
  • Some level of experience in supporting and monitoring grant programmes is preferred.
