Business, Market and Finance Development Specialist - Rwanda

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
International Resources Group (IRG), an Engility company, seeks a Business, Market & Finance Development Specialist for the anticipated Feed the Future Rwanda Sustainable Food, Agriculture, and Nutrition (SFAN) Activity that will increase smallholder farmer incomes, improve household nutritional status, and increase the resilience of the agriculture system to the changing climate. The Business, Market & Finance Development Specialist will lead project activities in facilitating access to markets, access to finance and strengthening business skills of farmers and other value chain actors. The position requires significant experience in facilitating access to market information; capacity building in business planning, financial management, and other related topics; linking farmers to input and output markets; and improving access to credit and financial services.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master’s degree or higher in business, economics, marketing, finance, or a closely related field.
  • Five years of progressively responsible international work experience in business development.
  • Experience implementing approaches that successfully integrate the poor into market opportunities.
  • Experience and understanding of market facilitation approaches to increase productivity for smallholder farmers.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Knowledge of the Rwandan agriculture sector preferred.
  • Knowledge of French and Kinyarwanda preferred.
