Short introduction
We are seeking a Team Leader, Senior Technical Expert to lead a team of support providing policy advice and capacity development at national level, quality improvement in district hospitals, and strengthening cooperation and networking as part of the Tanzanian German Project to Support the Health Sector.
The role holder will be based in Dar es Salaam but will need to visit the regions of Lindi, Mtwara, Mbeya and Tanga regularly.
Responsibilities
The Team Leader, Senior Technical Expert will lead a team of support providing policy advice and capacity development at national level, quality improvement in district hospitals, and strengthening cooperation and networking as part of the Tanzanian German Project to Support the Health Sector.
· Coordination and monitoring improvements in policy advice and capacity development at national level, quality improvement in district hospitals, and strengthening cooperation and networking
· Lead a capacity development strategy
· Management and quality assurance of four regional quality improvement advisors
· Participation in all Tanzanian-German meetings and work sessions; providing progress updates
· Participation in project evaluations and planning
· Attending and hosting relevant meetings and work groups
Person specification
· Background and at least ten years professional experience as a nurse, doctor, midwife, health manager
· Substantial experience with quality improvement systems and quality measurement in health (eg ISO, Joint commission, EFQM etc.)
· Experience as a quality of health care delivery trainer, coach or quality focal point
· Experience as a team leader, with experience in project management (operational planning, monitoring, reporting)
· Proficient user of Microsoft Office
· Fluent in Kiswahili and English in reading, speaking and writing
