A versatile position for a Program Coordinator within a dynamic, hard-working, INGO that provides relief to survivors of natural disasters. Reporting to the Associate Project Director, and working in close partnership with The Muona Foundation, and the Volunteer Coordinator, the Program Coordinator will organize and lead infield team of international and local volunteers to excavate and brick 48 shallow irrigation wells in Southern Malawi. A qualified Program Coordinator must be highly experienced in logistics and efficient use of time. Daily tasks include ensuring the tools and materials to perform tasks are organized and available, as well as overseeing daily work load.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership:
· Provides supportive leadership, management and overall organizational planning to the All Hands Volunteer field teams
· Ability to motivate volunteers of many different nationalities under stressful yet rewarding workload.
· Provide quality
· Sets clear goals, objectives, and expectations for the volunteer construction teams; monitors and evaluates their progress; provides regular support and constructive feedback; and reviews and revises relevant tasks, procedures, and responsibilities to improve operational efficiency and promote volunteer and project
Program Coordination:
· Provides everyday logistics, site monitoring, tool and material supply, and oversite of all well construction sites
· Plan and adhere to a strict construction timeline
· Ensure quality control over finished wells
· Create project systems to maintain a high level of efficiency and expediency
· Maintains positive working relationship with field-level partners
· Maintains program integrity and develops additional program value
Administration and Logistics:
· Maintains detailed work records, schedules, and supporting documents
· Track tool and material usage
REQUIREMENTS
· Professional background including appropriate technical and project coordination experience
· Proven leader with previous professional coordination experience
· Experience coordinating daily construction projects with a high degree of physical difficulty
· Exceptional communicator both verbally and in writing, able to adapt to different cultures and communication styles
· Ability to establish and maintain effective and productive working relationship with colleagues from varying cultures, functions, organizations and positions
· Highest level of professionalism, integrity, respect for others, and a commitment to “doing the right thing”
· Flexibility and adaptability in managing and prioritizing a high workload in a fast paced environment; ability to work in emotionally stressful context.
· Proficiency with applicable productivity and project management software
EDUCATION, SKILLS & TRAINING
· Previous experience with All Hands Volunteers is preferable
· Previous project coordination experience in a professional setting
· Proficient in construction theory and practice
· Excellent planning and coordination skills
· Multi-lingual a plus
· Previous international travel experience—preferably in developing countries
