Graphic & Technology Coordinator

Location: Home based with travel to the Middle East region

Duration of position: until the 31st of December 2015 (subject to funding with possible extension)

Reporting to:SNAP Project Lead in Beirut

We are looking for an enthusiastic Graphic and Technology Consultant to improve all aspects of the technology solutions used internally by SNAP (Strategic Needs Analysis Project) and in support of SNAP work externally. This includes the production of SNAP products with professional, solution-oriented technological platforms. Furthermore s/he is also responsible for ensuring SNAP graphic designs are consistent, appropriate and of a high quality.

Quality control and consistency

• Ensure consistency and quality of SNAP graphics (including reports, presentations, and website) through direct advice, support & implementation
• Improve consistency and quality of SNAP design by revising and developing new formats for information products
• Revise and roll out SNAP’s Graphic design chart in all products in line with ACAPS graphic chart
• Research ways in which SNAP products can be made easier to read and understand
• Liaise with SNAP GIS Coordinator and SNAP Editor to ensure consistency and quality of SNAP products
• Develop layout templates for all communication products, together with the SNAP Editor

Technology

• Ensure that SNAP technological tools are adequate and fulfil the need of the SNAP team
• Advise on technological solutions, for data collection, data cleaning, data analysis, data security, data storage and data dissemination
• Contribute to web design and maintenance of the web platform and other social media, as required
• Maintain/Evolve SNAP Database with an intuitive user friendly platform to keep matching the SNAP team’s evolving needs
• Ensure the SNAP DB Platform remain usable and shareable with SNAP’s target audience.

Capacity building

• Work with SNAP Project Lead to identify capacity gaps within the SNAP team relating to technology and feed into SNAP’s internal capacity building strategy
• Provide relevant capacity development training in his/her area of expertise
• Contribute to external SNAP training in his/her area of expertise
