Org. Setting and Reporting
The internship position is located in the UNOG Library's Cultural Activities and Outreach Unit.
The internship will start in mid-March 2015 for a maximum period of 6 months.
The internship is UNPAID and full-time.
Interns work five (5) days per week (35 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the Cultural Activities Unit.
Education
Applicants must be enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school (second university degree or higher) in Public Information, Communication, Events and/or Cultural Studies both at the time of application and during the internship; or
Applicants pursuing their studies in countries where higher education is not divided into undergraduate and graduate stages must have completed at least four years of full-time studies at a university or equivalent institution towards the completion of a degree in Public Information, Communication, Events and/or Cultural Studies.
Work Experience
No professional experience is required, but would be an asset. However, applicants should :
• be computer literate in standard software applications;
• Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and
• Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Languages
Fluency in French or English and knowledge of the other are required.
