MSME Development advisor

Chemonics seeks a component leader for an anticipated USAID-funded entrepreneurship and enterprise development project in Egypt. The project will aim to increase competitiveness of Egyptian Micro and Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (MSMEs) and entrepreneurs with a particular focus on women and youth. As there is not yet a scope of work for this project, the particular components are subject to change but may include work on integrating MSMEs into targeted value chains. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. Responsibilities include:

  • ​Select value chains that present potential growth opportunities for MESMEs and entrepreneurs
  • Increasing competitiveness and forming strategic partnerships​ 
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree preferred or bachelor's degree with equivalent years of experience in business, management, entrepreneurship or relevant field
  • Relevant technical experience in MSME development, specifically in Egypt
  • Demonstrate technical expertise in areas such as value chain analysis, strengthening funding mechanisms for MSME development and market potential for MSMEs
  • Capacity to identify appropriate stakeholders and proven ability to interact with the public and private sector
  • Experience on a donor-funded project preferred
  • Ability to work and travel in remote areas of Egypt to oversee program implementation and provide technical expertise
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required
