Help deliver the vision
A better future for Britain’s railway
Public Members
Britain’s railway is undergoing fundamental change, following reclassification to the public sector and £38 billion investment between 2014 and 2019.
As one of Network Rail’s Public Members, you’ll play a vital part in helping us to deliver that change; ensuring that the Board is effective in driving the corporate strategy and properly addressing the key issues involved in a national public service.
As part of a group of around 40 Public Members, from a wide range of backgrounds, you’ll engage with the Board and senior management and exert a real influence over the governance of Network Rail.
With experience of high-level corporate governance, you’ll be comfortable in holding the Board of a large and complex organisation to account.
The role involves around eight to ten days per year over a three-year term, and is unpaid, but
reasonable travel expenses will be met.
