Description: We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Data Capture Clerk under the Project Management Unit. Please note this is strictly a temporary position (3 months).

The position will be based at CIMMYT's Main Campus (located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico).
Specific responsibilities of this position will include:
  • Perform the collection of data and information generated by the research areas and laboratories of the Center.
  • Keep the databases assigned to the units updated to ensure reliable information for the consultation by researchers.
  • Perform analyzes requiring the use of computer equipment and propose techniques that help to obtain better and faster results.
  • Keep the assigned equipment in optimal operating conditions and request maintenance when required.
  • Report to the immediate supervisor any abnormal situations that occur in the process of the assigned work for immediate correction.
  • Collaborate in the laboratory analysis as assigned, in order to contribute to meeting the objectives of the unit.
  • Assist in carrying out tasks as assigned by your immediate supervisor.
  • Perform any other tasks and assignments related to the program/project, as required by the supervisor.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes: Essential:
  • Minimum secondary education level; technical studies in computer sciences or equivalent is desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar position and activities.
  • Good computer knowledge (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Advanced level of English.
  • Applicant must be organized, responsible, punctual, honest, and have extensive capacity of observation and analysis.
  • Selected candidate will also have a good sense of initiative, attitude of service and good teamwork, and have the ability and liking for multi-tasking.
